Desde 2019 hab\u00eda sido designado como director en el Banco Naci\u00f3n, tras la llegada de Alberto Fern\u00e1ndez a la Casa Rosada.<\/p>\n<p>Naci\u00f3 en Buenos Aires el 28 de diciembre de 1949. Se recibi\u00f3 de m\u00e9dico en la Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA) y ejerci\u00f3 en la especialidad de onc\u00f3logo hasta 1983. Ocup\u00f3 el cargo de secretario de Salud del partido de Lan\u00fas entre 1983 y 1987; en este \u00faltimo a\u00f1o fue elegido diputado nacional por el Partido Justicialista hasta 1991. En 1999 renov\u00f3 el cargo de diputado.\u200b<\/p>\n<p>En\u00a02003, ya durante el transcurso de la etapa final de la presidencia de\u00a0Eduardo Duhalde, Pampuro se desempe\u00f1\u00f3 como secretario general de la Presidencia de la Naci\u00f3n. El 14 de diciembre de\u00a02005\u00a0fue elegido, junto con\u00a0Cristina Fern\u00e1ndez de Kirchner, senador nacional, a trav\u00e9s del\u00a0Frente para la Victoria.
